It’s quite easy to scuff the surface and paint or primers peeling from large metal surfaces such as tank skirts is not uncommon. Metal Prep 4K is a primer for metal parts boosting paint adhesion an mitigating problems such as paint peeling at vulnerable areas, paint scuffing or general poor adhesion of acrylic paints. Paint coats preceded by Metal Prep 4K gain much desired durability. Product is applied with a brush to form a translucent and thin film which won’t affect a model’s detail. IMPORTANT: Please degrease metal parts with VMS Styrene Cement Standard Type prior application of the primer!
What’s the best technique for precise application of the primer?
Use flat or cat’s tongue brushes apply thin coat and let it level on it’s own.
How effective is the primer?
One model requires around 0.5-1 ml of primer depending on the PE amount, bottle holds 30 ml. You will be able to finish around 30-60 1/35 scale models before you run out of the primer.
What agent to use to clean brushes?
Please use cleaning products for acrylic paints such as VMS Cleaners Pro or an equivalent.
How long do I need to wait before I can start painting my model?
Primer dries in 15-30 minutes depending on ambient temperature. You can usually start painting in 20 minutes after application.
