Uschi Blitz Dry does
reduce the the drying time of oil paints from 5 days to one hour
until a glaze made of oil paint can be sealed with clear acrylic or clear lacquer varnish
in order to apply decals.
Any lil detail in this sentence is of importance.
Oil paint…lacquer…acrylic…all this is playing a role.
Where to use
-Modelers often create wood using a glaze technique (oil on acrylic)
-Tool handles, wooden floors, aircraft fuselages, aircraft wings…..furniture…..everywhere wood has been created using the oil paint method.
Right to exist
There are drying time accelerators out there, sometimes referred as “Japan Dryer” or “Rapid Dry”. These are for painter-type-artists
and one can reduce drying time from 5 to 3 days with it.
Still too long for a modeller who wants to move on.
What Uschi has done is to isolate the working ingredients of the aforementioned agents and concentrate these in a new extra-fast working agent.
We now can seal the glaze with clear varnish
—not with enamel varnish because it solves the glaze coat again
—Only with lacquer and acrylic varnish
The glaze is not physically dried right now, but stabilized in order to be sealed with clear varnish
The rest of the drying process will commence automatically
The BlitzDry shall be used like a substitute for turpentinoid thinner, such as odourless turpentine.
A few drops of the product added to the oil paint is enough.
Once the desired consistency has been achieved, the mix can be used for painting the glaze.
Any materials such as brushes can be cleaned with turpentine thinners.
