The Hawker Hunter F1 first entered RAF service in 1954, with the FGA.9 variant being introduced and tasked with close-air-support from 1960 to 1971. Its Avon turbojet engine could propel the aircraft to an impressive 715mph (.94Mach). Hunters were armed with four 30mm Aden cannons and rocket pods, plus external fuel tanks, dependent on mission requirement. Marking this centenary year of the founding of the Royal Air Force, Revell’s highly detailed model features fine surface detail, fully outfitted cockpit, undercarriage, ‘Sabrina’ spent-casing blisters and a choice of rocket pods and external fuel tanks.
