HMS York WWII Heavy Cruiser.
Lead ship of the British York Class of heavy cruisers, laid down in May 1927, launched in July 1928 and completed in May 1930. Awarded Battle Honours for operations in Atlantic, Baltic, Mediterranean and Maltese operations 1939-1941. YORK was abandoned in May 1941 after receiving bomb damage. Later salvaged and broken up in Italy in 1952.
