History:
The Bell AH-1W “Whiskey Cobra” was developed as an advanced derivative of the Vietnam-era AH-1 Cobra. Equipped with twin engines, advanced avionics, and night vision systems, it offered improved survivability and combat effectiveness. Entering service with the U.S. Marine Corps in the mid-1980s, the AH-1W became a mainstay of close air support operations, serving in the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, and other conflicts. Known for its speed, manoeuvrability, and firepower, it carried a mix of rockets, missiles, and its 20mm cannon to devastating effect. The Whiskey Cobra remained in frontline service for over three decades before being replaced by the AH-1Z Viper. This Forces of Valor model commemorates its long and distinguished career as one of the most respected attack helicopters of modern warfare.
