Ammunition rounds developed by Rheinmetall AG for use in a variety of tanks including the Leopard 1, Leopard 2, and M1 Abrams. Used in the Gulf War, the Iraq War, and the War in Afghanistan.
DM11 introduced in 1973 is a fin-stabilised armour-piercing discarding sabot (APDS) round capable of penetrating 500mm of rolled homogeneous armour (RHA) at a distance of 2000 metres.
DM23 introduced in 1976 is a fin-stabilised high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) round capable of penetrating 800mm of RHA at a distance of 2000 metres.
DM78 introduced in 1982 is a fin-stabilised kinetic energy penetrator (KEP) round capable of penetrating 900mm of RHA at a distance of 2000 metres.
