American transport aircraft developed through modification of C-141A. It was intended for transportation of military freight over long distances. During 1977-1979 a total of 271 aircraft were upgraded to the new version. The C-141B participated in Operation Desert Storm in 1991, and the type continued in service until the late 1990s.Markings included for C-141B Starlifter s/n 65-0257, US Air Force, 452nd Air Mobility Wing, March AFB, CA, mid 1990s. This aircraft is preserved by the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, and currently on display at March Field Air Museum, California.
